The amount of resources allocated to climate finance mechanisms has increased significantly in recent decades, allowing countries such as Ecuador to increasingly access funds to halt deforestation and climate change. However, the resources received are not sufficient and do not always reach the territories directly, especially for indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLCs). This document identifies some barriers that currently hinder IPCL's access to climate funds and makes recommendations.
